A Special Message to You

"It's an advertisement Mr. Cole-- it's not actually a special message to you."

This is a misleading world. Like Nate says, one never knows if the correct choice was made. One never knows which outcome we will find, intentions and goals aside.

"Yeah she knows it's a MULTI-PASS!"

We have some defining attributes, don't we all? And when it comes down to it how many different conversations are going on right now? How much of our lives is pretty much planned ahead of time? Aren't we just going to get up and exercise or work? Aren't we just going to watch tv at some point, or put in a movie, or make a phone call the moment stillness begins to creep up?

Well, the cynic has been right about a few things and terribly ignorant about a few others. I've neglected certain functions and over-attended to others. I've gone about and I've focused in place. I have jumped from myself into myself, and it still hurts. I have shared with friends and the growing closer is good for me and for everyone, and then the moment builds into a tragedy and the question returns about humans and coexistence. What is the outcome?

I went to the bathroom at work a few weeks ago, and I had brought a small taoist book into the stall to read. I sat down on the toilet, and a moment later began to hear a loud, staggered beeping coming from the stall next to mine. After a moment, I realized it was a man on the toilet on his iPhone playing something-- I assumed it was a baseball game. In short, there is no more down time-- we have witnessed the age of the death of the sit-n-think. Our devices are smarter than our sense of tranquility.

I will work harder to play it cool. I will be old school. I will be the trickster, rather than play fools.

Short one, rather aimless, too. Just a ramble, really. Thanks, I'll be around.
